Adult Development Programme

The Adult Development Programme (ADP)

The Adult Development Programme (ADP) was developed and introduced by Linda Fish in 2010. The programme is designed to support service users in all aspects of their daily lives paying particular attention to each individual’s needs, interests and ability levels.

The Adult Development Programme is implemented in all our homes in order to provide our service users with the very best care and learning opportunities. We offer a completely person centred and meaningful waking day curriculum.

The focus of our Adult Development Programme is to promote knowledge, understanding, recognition, self- empowerment and independence as is feasible to each individual. It follows 12 core themes which are worked towards daily and form an integral part of the service user’s structured daily timetable. Progress is recorded and monitored with targets altered or adapted once a skill or part of a skill has been mastered. Once a target has been changed the skills learned are not lost as they become part of everyday life ensuring progress is maintained and progression continues.
